What is discerning the body of Selor?

What is discerning the Lord's body?

"De Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. Therefore, let a man examine himself, and so eat the bread and drink of the cup. He who eats and drinks without discerning the Lord's body, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself. " (1 Cor 11:27-29).

To understand this expression is necessary, first, knowing that Paul meant when he uses the word "body" and what are the activities and attitudes that affect it. Secondly what is the meaning of the word "discernment."

In this passage, as elsewhere, Paul uses the word body Church referring to joint activity and dynamic and where each believer is considered part of it. Members are persons having a close spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ, because they have been regenerated and sanctified by the Spirit of God and that He is its Head. Means that the Church is a holy institution regarded as "the body of Christ." All

attitude that undermines the Church utters every word that is against the Church, any attitude or action that adversely affects the Church, against the testimony and the stability of, is an attack against Jesus Christ who is its head. This idea is confirmed by Paul, as taking the shape of a Temple says that the Church is a temple wherein dwells the Spirit of God and alert saying: Know ye not that ye are the temple of the Spirit of God and the Spirit of God dwells in you?. "If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him, for the temple of God, who are you, holy." (1Cor.3: l4-16).

All attitude and action that is committed against the Church, is by not discerning the Body of Christ. The word "discern" comes from the Greek word diakrino, such as doing analysis "through" is to make a comprehensive analysis from within. This leads us to conclude that, when you have a concept clear what is the Church, often come to think that this is a club, merely a fraternal group, association, etc. It tends to strip the church of its spiritual nature, sees the brothers as ordinary people and not reclaimed by Christ to people who have been given the privilege of belonging to this group called the Church chosen by grace within which we are all brothers.

This perspective produces carnal carnal attitudes that translate, in turn, speaking and carnal abuse, involving members of the Body. These attitudes or work reduced to carnal believer in a state of indignity such that the disabled to participate in the communion of the blood and body Christ represented by the bread and wine.

The question we should ask ourselves now is: What was the indignity of the Corinthian church? Here are some of the outrageous events that are manifested in this group that Paul had to exhort and teach:

factional divisions. 1:10-14
lack of discernment. 3:16
sexual immorality. Cap. 5
Litigation and lawsuits before unbelievers. Cap. 6
ate things sacrificed to idols. Cap. 8
Some practiced idolatry. Decontrol ca. 10
spiritual manifestations. Caps. 12 to 14

Given this situation that distorted the image of the Church in the world, Paul exhorts: "Therefore let a man examine himself, and so eat the bread and drink of the cup." Paul means: "Therefore each of you analĂcese itself with the effect that a change of attitude that gets you the ability to participate in communion worthily.
